Big Local

Big Local aims to bring together all the local talent, ambitions, skills and energy from individuals, groups and organisations who want to make their area an even better place to live.

About Big Local

Big Local is funded by the National Big Lottery Community Fund and managed by Local Trust, however it is the local residents in each area that are running the project on a day to day basis. Local Trust works with a range of partners nationally to provide expert advice, access to the skills and experiences of others and support for the local residents. Each area has a dedicated Local Area Advisor ‘Rep’ from Local Trust who acts as a mentor to the group.

Both of the resident led Big Local Partnerships in Arley & Ansley and Hill Top & Caldwell have chosen CAVA to act as their Locally Trusted Organisation (LTO) which means that they provide a number of services to the group including employing any staff, acting as our banker, providing liability insurance together with advice and guidance on community issues.

Arley & Ansley Big Local

The three villages of Old Arley, New Arley and Ansley Village in North Warwickshire form one of 150 areas around England chosen by Local Trust to be part of the Big Local project to use at least £1 Million over 10 years to make a massive and lasting positive difference to their community.

Their vision for making a difference includes:

  • Making the community cleaner and safer, with more people using and enjoying open spaces;
  • Making sure everyone is valued, appreciated and respected by one another;
  • Ensuring that children and young people are valued and able to reach their full potential;
  • Ensuring that local assets are maintained and sustained;
  • Reducing barriers to aspiration and ambition;
  • Reducing levels of child and family poverty; and
  • Reducing the feeling of rural isolation felt by some residents.

The team consists of: Sarah Deeming – Project Coordinator, Kelly Middleton – Youth Worker, Liam Brady – Assistant Youth Worker, and Gary Fox – Administrator.

The Partnership are in their final phase, and are working to achieve their community plan: Arley and Ansley Big Local: Community Plan 2021-2024
