Volunteers needed for a focus group with Helpforce

Helpforce are a charity whose mission it is to grow volunteering across health and care.

Helpforce partners with Trusts and organisations to develop volunteer roles which support keeping patients active and mobile, speeding up discharge, getting people home from hospital and preventing falls and reducing readmissions.

Helpforce are looking to speak with 8-10 volunteers around their experience volunteering with individuals in their own homes. They will be asking questions to understand what information and training they feel is needed before going into someone’s home.

Time commitment – a one off focus group of 1-1.5 hours, like to be on a weekday

  • Preparation – no preparation will be necessary but more details will be shared ahead of the focus group. This can be read and will give more information
  • Expenses – Travel expenses will be paid to volunteers for attending. Helpforce will reimburse organisations for expenses incurred by their volunteers
  • What will volunteers be doing – Attending an informal focus group with Sara Miles at Helpforce. Sara will have some questions to ask in order to better understand from volunteers what training material and content would be most beneficial
  • Follow up – Sara will keep volunteers updated with how their feedback has been used. They will receive a preview of the information / training material and an opportunity to comment again. It is likely this element would be completed virtually.
